SLOAN PORTER (she/they/he) from Montreal is a multitude of selves: an interdisciplinary artist, writer, DJ, martial art vlogger, and engineer. As a writer, the art of poetry has been an all-consuming journey since a young age. She’s most interested in exploring a darker side, the questions that linger at night, and the passions that drive us.
Her work is often defined as dark confessional poetry. Raw, emotional, sometimes dreamy, and often reflective, she is not afraid to reach the deeper parts of herself and ask the larger questions.
She first studied creative arts and English Literature in college and university, but eventually left to catch poems by moonlight instead. Afterwards, she pursued a bachelor's degree in Engineering where she finds beauty and inspiration in science.
Her poetry appeared in online and print publications (catalog here). Her chapbook, For:Us (2025), is now available in print here, and her full length book is coming soon in 2026!
